Time marches on....and trips occasionally.

Well on a lighter post, [with much less philosophy] second semester is going pretty well. I am working at a retail store at the moment and the tedious job of folding large amounts of clothes is balanced by the cool people who work there and interesting experiences.

I have recently picked up guitar...well let me rephrase that. I have started to learn how to play the guitar, but I don't actually have one yet. Minor setback.

While I am so far from in love right now and not ready for any relationship whatsoever, I am impatiently waiting for "something" to happen like it usually does. My luck lately has not been the greatest, sadly, and I am not one to admit publicly my relationship woes, so people who know me and read this KNOW it is bad.

In a nutshell, school is going better, life is good, but of course it could be better, and it is damn cold outside. The snow is getting to me. It has basically sabotages my last two weekends.

Wonderment

Idealism....

Something we all strife to reach, yet are always short of the peak; just a few feet from the crag, in which we can pull ourselves up to our absolute potential. However, as with mountains, our ideal selves are always changing, whether it be slow erosion or a swift avalanche. So how do we choose to fail?

The Human is always searching for new goals. When you peel off the superficial lining of the human psyche, you will discover that we can never be truly happy with ourselves, as we are constantly creating new expectations for conscious- higher plateaus for our mountains. Maslow's theory on Idealism is truly a mystery. Humans want to become their potential, but underneath the skin of the conscious desires lies a need to achieve a greater piece of mind.

The painter who paints masterpieces that gain display at the Louvre discovers that his talent his no longer makes him happy. He believes he was born with one purpose, but his sudden hatred for his art only leads to depression and his depression only weakens his reputation. Eventually he becomes emotionaly nothing, as he has not yet understood that Humans are constantly changing individuals. What I am stating is that we should not be confined to our talents. We should learn as much as we can and look past our God-given talents. Sadly, the painter should have moved on.

Take chances and be curious, but understand that individual perfection is a paradox, as no soul on this planet has achieved it and thus, don't strife for it. Bathe in the waters of your individuality, do what you love, and don't be confided to your potentials. Perhaps I am wrong, maybe there are a handful of perfect-beings out there whom are no longer curious. No longer attaining goals. No longer fulfilling themselves with their accomplishments. I hope I am wrong.

Being perfect would suck.

There is a man who has a farm, and his whole livelihood depends on his horse to plow the field. One day he is out plowing and suddenly the horse drops dead. The people of the town say "That's very unfortunate." And the man says, "We'll see."

A few days later somebody feels sorry for him and gives him a horse for a gift. The townspeople say, "You're a lucky man. And the man says, "We'll see."

A couple of days later the horse runs away and everybody says, "You poor guy." And the man says, "We'll see."

A few more days go by and the horse returns with a second horse and everybody says, "What a lucky guy." And the man says, "We'll see."

The man had never had two horses before, so he and his son decided to go riding, and the boy falls off one of the horses and breaks a leg. The townspeople say, "Poor kid." And the man says "We'll see."

The next day the militia comes into town grabbing young men for the army, but they leave the boy behind because he has a broken leg. Everybody says, "What a lucky kid." And the man says, "We'll see."

The world I am trying to understand is one in which men think they want one thing and then upon getting it, find out to their dismay that they don’t want it nearly as much as they thought or don’t want it at all and that something else, of which they were hardly aware, is what they really want.

Looking Beyond

I find myself looking more, and more at objects of beauty. I used to take some things for granted. An autumn leaf; a rusting bridge over a burbling creek; stars in the country sky.

Next time you see what you consider nature, forget what you are told about what beauty is. Forget what you even think is beauty. Abstract yourself. Then, imagine what it would be like if you never saw that object of nature; how your life would be.

Would you miss it?

To be a child again...to see the world all over again with just curiosity, not knowledge. What have we been missing all this time?

Yep

Well I am home today because I am not feeling too hot. I have been really tired lately and I have been sleeping a ton with no success. So it seems I keep making the same mistakes in life that I always have been making. I worry about miniscule things and I seem to harm my relationships [in my mind] with these things I worry about. Sometimes I just don't understand myself. 3 weeks ago it was an axiety attack over something I knew was ok. Last week I was just selfish for certain reasons, in which I could not control and most recently, I got jealous because of something I knew would never happen. I have also been a hypocrite, showing the same emotions that I worry about in others. Now, I am just ashamed of my anxiety problems and even though friends are telling me everything is alright, it does not help my feeling for myself. I don't have low self-esteem by anymeans, I just don't understand this disorder. I need someone to talk to because I am tired of hiding behind the masquarade that everything is alright, because it isn't. This is my most personal blog post so far and I am sure that it will worry some people and my intentions are not to get attention, but to let it all out. I have two blogs and this is a copy/paste entry from my other one. The one noone will ever see.

-Sarah, You are so dear to me. I care about you more than any other person. Sometimes even more than myself. You are a point of light to me. I have learned so much about myself through you and looking back, you are really the first person I have ever loved so dearly. If you ever think I am dog-guarding you, please know that I can't help it. Sometimes I feel that the only thing I can do is protect you. Last night was just a reality check for me. I got sick over it...I never get sick. You know this. I hate Ten O'clock. I had so much more to tell you and it just came out wrong during those texts messages. You have saved me emotionally and inspired me in so many ways. You are a strong person and seeing you hurt always kills me inside. We all get hurt sometimes, but when you get hurt...it hurts me twice as much and you are a lot stronger than I am as a person. Those pauses in our phone calls kill me. It's as if you both know what each other is thinking, we are just too afraid to say it.

It has almost been four-months and we have been through a lot together...family, time apart, and even mono. I want you to know that I would never hurt you in anyway. My heart has been broken too and I know how it feels and how difficult it is to recover from. I know we both have had mediocre pasts, but lets look towards the future. Love is not about finding the right person, but creating a right relationship. It's not about how much love you have in the beginning but how much love you build till the end. But Sarah, we are not far from done building.

~Loving you always

Halloween Week

So I am pretty much a pain this week. I realized that I have been an ass to a few of my friends [although some for some pretty good reasons] and to my family. I can't really help it. I am stressing out with a lot of things lately. My dad is going to get his lymph node in his neck checked out today, since it has been swollen for over a month. It could be anything from cancer to a long cold. I don't know and it is worrying me. He also is on "a break" with his girlfriend, so has been really down lately. I am just on a short fuse, which is unlike me...that is how I know something is up.

I am going to stay with him this weekend and I have no idea what to expect.

On a lighter note, my Dad got tickets to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra on December 26th. Two months from now. I am really excited. I am also going to see the Chiefs\Seahawks game with him this weekend.

So

Last week can easily be described as one of the best examples of how a good week can go downhill in the blink of an eye. I had an anxiety attack on Thursday and I am still a little shakey. The best part of all this is that my parents and family members are trying to interrogate me as to why I had it. As if that makes things better.

This friday, two of my cousins, my sister, and her boyfriend get to live in my house while my mom and her sister and my grandparents are in Las Vegas. The thing is...I am the only one who doesn't get to stay at my house. I have to stay at my dad's while they turn my home into a fun house. Fucking A-rated greatness.

This weekend I have Sarah's party and a couple of other things, such as napping outside my dad's house, so I don't think I will have to worry about being couped-up at my dad's this weekend

I am so damn-ready for summer.

I want to move to Australia.

Wyatt Fucking Earp

The symbol you display on your flag was inspired by I. You found courage through my words. You and your little merry group of fucking rag-torn rebels are doing this in hoping that I approve. I have given you drive. You eat not to quell your hunger but because its one of those things you have to do to, well, stay alive.

I, on the other hand, just saw the damage you did while I was watching television and saw that you were on your way here to collect me and escort me safely to the awaiting yacht that you apparently learned to hijack from a book or Claude Speed or some bullshit so now I have to stay peering through bent kitchen window blinds hoping the fuck that you don't mistake me for an officer of the law or ice cream man or pope or religious-experience-inflicting satelite.

Seriously, we'll make it to the boat right before you fuck up and accidently propel a bullet from your shoulder slung rifle right through my goddamn chest leaving me to stare at the sky for the next 14 hours while I bleed out and hallucinate and have a conversation with my brain and have it tell me it's showing me this shit because if it doesn't I will flip right the fuck out with what reality really looks like right about now.

And you didn't even bother to ask if I wanted to go with you.

Christ shit!

Your Problems are everyone's problems

Choices. We all make them or don't make them. Depending on what we want usually depends on our ids, our taught wants...what we want from other people. Attention...strife...love...it all affects people. Just be sure you know how your choices will affect others before you do them. One can be too selfish...think too much of themselves and put their needs before others. Likewise, people can be too selfless. We need to take care of our own problems before tending to others.

Remember that everything you do, whether it be skipping homework, cheating on a lover, or even destroying yourself at any given pace from alcohol to suicide will deeply affect others in the long run...even the next day. This is to all the people who can't take back those choices...but probably would have by giving those choices a single, second thought.

Wake up kids
We've got the dreamers disease
Age fourteen
They got you down on your knees
So polite
We're busy still saying please
Frienemies
Who when you're down ain't your friend
Every night
We smash their mercedes benz
First we run
And then we laugh 'till we cry
But when the night is falling
And you cannot find the light
you feel your dreams are dying
Hold tight
You've got the music in you
Don't let go
You've got the music in you
One dance left
This world is gonna pull through
Don't give up
You've got a reason to live
Can't forget we only get what we give
[I'm comin' home baby]
[You're tops, give it to me now]
Four a.m. we ran a miracle mile
We're flat broke
But hey we do it in style
The bad rich
God's flying in for your trial
But when the night is falling
And you cannot find a friend
You feel your tree is breaking
Just bend
You've got the music in you
Don't let go
You've got the music in you
One dance left
This world is gonna pull through
Don't give up
You've got a reason to live
Can't forget
We only get what we give
This whole damn world can fall apart
You'll be ok follow your heart
You're in harms way I'm right behind
Now say you're mine
You've got the music in you
Don't let go
You've got the music in you
One dance left
This world is gonna pull through
Don't give up
You've got a reason to live
Can't forget
We only get what we give
Don't let go
I feel the music in you
Fly high
What's real can't die
We only get what we give
You're gonna get what you give
Just dont be afraid to live
Health insurance rip off lying FDA big bankers buying
Fake computer crashes dining
Cloning while they're multiplying
Fashion shoots with Beck and Hanson
courtney love and marilyn manson
You're all fakes
Run to your mansions
Come around
We'll kick your ass in

Needing an update

Its been 20 days since my last update, so here we go...

The world is spinning gracefully in our solar system. The stock market is up, and everyone is happy.

Really, I am doing pretty well. My grades are improving and I really couldn't ask for a better relationship right now. Yesterday I went paintballing and today, I am pretty sore.

I have not been sick in over a year, so I know when I get sick because I feel off and different. Well, I feel off and different today and I hope I am not getting what Sarah has. I can't miss school and I just refuse to be sick.

ON A LIGHTER NOTE

Gas is $1.99 in Kansas and as low as $1.94 in some Missouri areas. This probably has to do with the recent oil well findings in the Gulf. It is a good sign since Gasoline takes 6 months to process, so the companies that plan the pricings are thinking that in 6 months, they will make their proposed profit since they believe the price per barrel will be significantly lower in 6 months.

Keeping Our Minds Supple -- Questioning Everything

A lot of people feel threatened if they feel they are being asked to question their cherished beliefs or their perception of reality. Yet questioning is what keeps our minds supple and strong. Simply settling on one way of seeing things and refusing to be open to other possibilities makes the mind rigid and generally creates a restrictive and uncomfortable atmosphere. We all know someone who refuses to budge on one or more issues, and we may have our own sacred cows that could use a little prodding. Being open-minded means that we are willing to question everything, including those things we take for granted.

A willingness to question everything, even things we are sure we are right about, can shake us out of complacency and reinvigorate our minds, opening us up to understanding people and perspectives that were alien to us before. This alone is good reason to remain inquisitive, no matter how much experience we have or how old we get. In the Zen tradition, this willingness to question is known as beginner's mind, and it has a way of generating possibilities we couldn't have seen from the point of view of knowing something with certainty. The willingness to question everything doesn't necessarily mean we don't believe in anything at all, and it doesn't mean we have to question every single thing in the world every minute of the day. It just means that we are humble enough to acknowledge how little we actually know about the mysterious universe we call home.

Nearly every revolutionary change in the history of human progress came about because someone questioned some time-honored belief or tradition and in doing so revealed a new truth, a new way of doing things, or a new standard for ethical and moral behavior. Just so, a commitment to staying open and inquisitive in our own individual lives can lead us to new personal revolutions and truths, truths that we will hopefully, for the sake of our growth, remain open to questioning.

Thought of the moment

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."~Albert Einstein

So long...Homecoming

So, this Homecoming jazz kind of creeped up on me. I can't believe it was a month ago that I asked Sarah. I think that cheesy volleyball sign is still up. Anyways, the dance was great. Short, but great. Coming back to school was painful. I really can't stand a lot of my teachers and myself in general when it comes to academics. I am hoping things improve.

And we went paintballing again last week. It was pouring down rain the first few hours, but James, Mike, Aaron and I still managed to destroy a bunch of birthday kids. I only got shot twice out of around 8 rounds. I was so damn muddy.

Monday, September 11, 2006

Cruel!

I am convinced....

That there is some elaborate scheme to make my homecoming week Hell so I am too stressed to have fun during the dance.

I had to basically mow 6 yards in two days because my grandparents and my lawn are being verticutted, which basically means that they takes soil out of the ground to let in seeds. It is pointless in a 1/2 and acre lawn...trust me. But, to do this, you need to go over it twice to get as much grass cut as you can in prep...so yes...I am tired of cutting lawns.

I quit my job two weeks ago because I got sick of my boss. Its not anything I can't rebound from. I have a pretty good supply of cash in the bank.

And academics are weak this year. My english teacher is a year from retirement and two years from death. He is horrible and I can't see the point in what he teaches, which is mainly poetic rhythems and spelling.

Paintball yesterday. I got a kill every round and only got hit once. It was pretty fun, albeit my phone is messed up from the humidity and I may need a new one.

Lets just get this year done.

School Life

So school is in full-action now.

I can't say I like it...but it gives me something to do. I am only working 3 days a week now, which is what I prefer over my Summer 5 days.

Yesterday, I went to Sarah's house for her Family reunion [Yes, I know I am not family, but trust me...she NEEDED me there. Her family is a bit...nevermind] and we got to watch fireworks & Lightning...two of my favorate things.

I also helped Sarah on her Creation story for her history class and as it turns out, God created Hello Kitty and Hello Kitty evolved from the Japanese. Who knew?

Iowa blows. Sorry

Today I went with my dad to the Ware family reunion in Iowa. It was a 2 and a half hour trip both ways and it was somewhat a waste of time in my mind. All that way for some food and handshakes...

I also repierced my left ear. It looks pretty good nowadays. I may actually keep it.

Summer accomplishment, achievement, adjournment, attainment, bottom line, cease, cessation, close, closing, closure, conclusion, consequence....

...consummation, culmination, curtain, denouement, desistance, desuetude, determination, discontinuance, ending execution, expiration, expiry, finale, finis, finish, fulfillment, issue, last word, omega, outcome, payoff, perfection, realization, resolution, result, retirement, sign-off, stop, target, termination, terminus, upshot, wind-up, windup, wrap-up

So, Summer is pretty much Hasta La Vista

Sarah at a Church retreat until Tuesday so I have a whole weekend to spend with my guys. A few of them have just gotten out of some relationships, so it should be an interesting weekend.

My boss is an asshole and I am sick of his shit. He doesnt need to use me as examples for what he claims, "What you shouldn't do" just because he is an ass and is jealous. He says he wants to fight me. Ok, shithead, you are an asshole and need to be executed. That doesn't help your employee's morale, saying you want to beat them up.

I decided to drop US history AP and English AP and to keep Psych 2 AP and Computer Science AP.

Looks like Weigel will have to grin and bear another year with me

int oldFart;
oldFart='Weigel';

System.out.println("See you next year " + oldFart);

Yes, java programming humor. Learn it live it love it.

Hmmm

A week until my Junior Year.

Wow.

And I still have two books to read....

I am rather screwed.

Anyways, I have been with Sarah a month now. You can knock on wood all you want.

And, I am listening to Don't You Forget About Me by Simple Minds.

I can't believe it has been a month since I last saw The Breakfast Club....actually it has been like, a month and a half....that marks something personal for me, which still amazes me.

I have learned so much about myself this summer.
